Visiting Athens won’t be complete if you miss seeing one of the most iconic landmarks of the Ancient world, and that’s, of course, the Acropolis Parthenon monument. This magnificent complex is placed on a rocky outcrop above the city, and it was built during the Golden years of Pericle, in 5th century BC.

After you’ve enjoyed a great view from the “city in the sky” it is time to visit another pearl of the Ancient world. Temple of Zeus is dedicated to supreme Greek god and is also built during the Pericle’s rule. This temple is the best way to learn about Doric architectural style.

The next stop on this tour will be a “beautiful marble” which is the literal translation of Greek name for the Old Olympic Stadium, also known as Kallimarmaro. This ancient multipurpose stadium is the only stadium in the world that is built entirely of marble. It’s been reconstructed at the end of the 19th century and hosted the first modern Olympic games in 1896.

It is time to go to the heart of the city and visit beautiful Syntagma Square where you can witness an important place for Greek democracy, and see the Old Royal Palace, built in 1843. This is the place where the Hellenic Parliament gets in session for almost one century.

Lycabettus hill is the highest point in the city and it's a perfect place to take some breathtaking photos. It’s placed 300 meters (908 feet) above the sea level and it contains old amphitheater and a restaurant.

The next stop is the Academy of science where you can also visit the university and library of Athens. This spot is the academic heart of Athens and a place of beautiful architecture.

In the end, in the heart of the city, you’ll be able to see where Roman and Hellenic culture meet. Ancient and Roman Agora is a reminder of great ancient civilization at its peak. You’ll have a chance to walk down the same road where Pericles, Aristotle, and Plato used to hike every day.
